Concierge Travel Group Cleans Up Australia
Sydney, NSW
3/03/10
As part of the Australia wide Business Clean Up Day on Tuesday March 2nd, over fifteen Concierge Travel Group staff donned the yellow gloves and hit the streets of Sydney to help improve the quality of the environment and work towards reducing waste. The site covered over one kilometre square stretching from Kent St to Darling Harbour and along the foreshore. Whilst the site is cleaned daily, Concierge Travel Group staff were overwhelmed by the number of cigarette butts scattered and stuffed into nooks and crannies, collecting in excess of 3000.
Nadine Lowe, National Sales Manager for Concierge BT, a division of Concierge Travel Group said ‘Giving something back to the community and the environment is very important to us as a business. As a travel management company we are well aware of the impact of carbon emissions on the environment and we seek to minimise and report on these for our clients as well as our business internally.’
Participating in Clean Up Australia Day is just one part of Concierge Travel Group’s corporate social responsibility programme called Concierge Connect, the vision of which is to act responsibly for the long term benefit of the community and environment.
The CSR initiatives include:
• Carbon Offsets
• Climate Friendly workplace practices
• Charity connect
Last week, Concierge Travel Group’s leisure division Concierge Traveller had the pleasure of welcoming Ian Kiernan AO, founder of Clean Up Australia as special guest speaker to an exclusive event on Wolgan Valley Resort.
